3. Why we use your data and our legal basis
- Responding to enquiries and providing our services — necessary to take steps at your request and to perform our contract with you.
- Processing purchases, invoicing and record keeping — contract performance and compliance with legal and tax obligations.
- Security and fraud prevention — our legitimate interest in protecting our website, clients and business.
- Improving our website and services — our legitimate interest in understanding how our site is used.
- Sending service updates or marketing — your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

- Authorities — where disclosure is required by law or to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
We operate from Taiwan and work with clients and providers worldwide, so your data may be transferred outside your country of residence. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
6. How long we keep data
We keep enquiry data for up to two years after our last contact with you, and client and transaction records for as long as required by applicable accounting and tax law (typically up to seven years). When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email vivi@connectaiwan.com. We aim to respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
